Karel De Meester – art catalogue. Commissioned by Gallery de Ziener. This book is about the work of an exceptional artist, elusive, often living in India, and very consistent in his work. Due to the often temporary nature of his work, it was quite a task to collect sufficient quality photographic material of the many installations and in situ works he has realized over a quarter of a century. It was therefore mutually decided to keep this book almost entirely in black and white. The cover shows a pitch-black image of large black bars protruding through a window. The cover is printed in silver on felt-like black card, because although almost all of this artist's work is black, its tactility remains essential. The foreword is by art philosopher Frank Vande Veire.
