This book offers an overview of the work of the somewhat controversial Antwerp painter Stefaan Vermuyten—laced with humor and filled with intrusive, absurd associations. Published on the occasion of his exhibition at Gallery de Ziener, the book reflects the elusive nature of his work. Just like his art, which defies easy categorization, the title is intentionally misleading, provoking doubt. In line with this concept, the cover features varying shades of gray printed on gray paper. What’s the point? Well, if it’s not art, it’s… something else. The foreword is written by curator and art critic Luk Lambrecht.
